Hawaii CyberSpace Academy
The Academy is a facilitator of project based and interactive “process of thinking” actions in the classroom serving teachers of all disciplines and in all school choice settings.
The observation, understanding, application, and presentation methods and skills of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math are all employed as tools to empower students to have confidence to unleash their creative imagination.
The Academy sponsors two action plans which teachers get to tailor and guide to best meet their specific needs. Online and in person Academy help is offered. The actions and methods scale for elementary through high school levels.
Think About "It" -- Imagine!
Two Action Plans
#1 Contest poster for Students:
Deadlines 25 February 2023
Design a poster to illustrate your own invention, be it fanciful or plausible or an existing product. Draw from your experience in the world around you and draw it! Employ engineering terms, units of measure, and text descriptions.
The “hands on” student poster artful fabrication process showcases and rewards student imagination. Peer to peer, and with Academy guests, students gain valuable presentation confidence, etiquette skills, and recognition.
#2 Participation in the success of the Academy for Students, Public, Mentors:
The Academy programs and design are deliberately open to be modified and invented by students excited about helping to define the educational setting they are a part of. Student coordinators gain significant leadership and organization experience.
Mentors and potential “virtual” speakers are always welcomed to offer their special talents to help enliven and enlighten the learning opportunities of students and expand in classroom professional development of teachers.
Company and donor support is a big help. The Academy is proud to have, for examples, colleges, companies, and individuals offering prizes and cash support.
